Welcome

The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada is a group of people who share a common interest in astronomy. With a history of over one hundred years and nearly 5 000 members, there are 28 centres situated in most large cities and all ten provinces.

moon.jpgThe Edmonton Centre was established in 1932 and has a current membership of over 250. The major activities of the Centre include monthly meetings, dark site observing sessions, on-going public observing, public education, and special events such as astronomy work shops, star parties, and much more.

The Edmonton Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada exists to stimulate interest in, and to educate the public in astronomy and related sciences. We endeavour to pursue this goal by acquiring and maintaining equipment, libraries and other property necessary for the pursuit of these aims, as well as by publishing material containing information on the progress of astronomy and the work of the Centre.
