The details of our agreement are outlined in the Lakeland Letter of Authority, which must be renewed every year to be valid.

At the Shaw Lake Day Use Area, RASC members can utilizing the site for late night astronomical viewing and can make use of the storage shed and the ski chalet for shelter. The area has a nice view of the southern horizon. Same night overnight stays are permitted within either facility (both facilities have wood stoves for heat). The storage shed has a lock and can be used to store RASC astronomical equipment, although no equipment is stored there presently. The combination of the lock on the shed must be obtained form the Centre's Observing Group Coordinator or from a member of Council.
