The RASC Observatory
The RASC Observatory at the TELUS World of Science is located at 11211 - 142 Street, Edmonton (south lawn at TWOSE). The observatory offers FREE public observing, weather permitting, at the following times:
September to June
- Friday & Saturday 7 - 10 pm
- Saturday & Sunday: 1 - 4 pm
- Daily: 1 - 5 pm & 6:30 - 10 pm
The RASC Observatory at the TELUS World of Science is one of the liveliest learning centres in the city. The RASC and TWOSE provide staff and volunteers with a wide variety of backgrounds who share their knowledge and love of astronomy with the public.
Objects that are regularly viewed when visible include the Sun, the Moon, planets, double stars, colorful stars, star clusters, galaxies, nebulas.
Special events, when visible from Edmonton, include: lunar eclipses, comets, occultations stars by the Moon, shadow transits of Jupiter's moons across the face of the planet, passes of the International Space Station, and Iridium satellite flares.
There is no charge for admission to the Observatory, donations are accepted but not necessary.

- Dress for the weather and temperature, as the Observatory is an outdoor facility.
- There is low red-lighting only, which preserves dark adaptation for observers.
- There are no toilet facilities.
